Small Group Online Math Tutor

Remote • Contract • Part-time
During the school day (7:00 am - 4:00 pm CST)

Join the Math-A-Matics team as a part-time tutor and help students build confidence and mastery in math.

We offer flexible opportunities for online tutoring, serving students in grades 2–12 (and beyond) across the U.S.

At Math-A-Matics, we specialize in:

  • Personalized, 1-on-1 math instruction

  • Small group sessions when appropriate

  • Tailored support for each student’s unique needs—whether catching up, keeping up, or getting ahead

  • Test prep for exams like the SAT, ACT, GED, and STAAR

  • Students with learning differences (e.g., ADHD, processing delays)

We’re looking for tutors who are:

  • Passionate about math education

  • Skilled communicators

  • Ready to make a meaningful impact on student success

The Role

Tutors provide live, one-on-one or small group math instruction virtually. Scheduling is flexible and based on tutor availability. Sessions may take place during school hours (7:00 am - 4:00 pm CST) or after school depending on the program and student needs.

Tutors are matched with students based on subject expertise, communication style, and scheduling compatibility. Math-A-Matics provides onboarding, curriculum guidance, and ongoing support.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in math (2nd - 8th Grade Math, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus)

  • Experience working with students in an educational or mentorship role

  • Reliable internet connection and comfort with digital learning tools

  • Commitment to professional communication and timely updates

  • Must pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students with learning differences (e.g., ADHD, dyslexia)

  • Experience leading small group instruction and tutoring

  • SAT/ACT or standardized math test prep experience

  • Bilingual (Spanish-English preferred)

  • Certified teacher or pursuing a degree in math, education, or a related field
